Joyce Hendley is the Nutrition Editor at EatingWell magazine and the co-author of the recently released EatingWell Diet (2007). The EatingWell Diabetes Cookbook, which she authored in 2005, was nominated for awards from both the James Beard Foundation and the International Association of Culinary Professionals. Prior to joining EatingWell in 2005, Joyce was Food Editor of Weight Watchers Magazine and a contributor to several Weight Watchers cookbooks--including writing the text for Sarah, Duchess of York in the bestselling Win the Weight Game (2000). Joyce also co-wrote Forbidden Foods Diabetic Cooking (2000, with Maggie Powers, RD), which won the National Health Information Silver Award. Her work has appeared in Gastronomica, the Minneapolis Star-Tribune, Cooking Pleasures, Woman's Day, Glamour, and Vegetarian Times.

Joyce received a B.A. cum laude in English Literature from Cornell University in 1982, and an M.S. in Nutrition from New York University in 1992 (where she interned in a test kitchen that developed recipes for Splenda® sucralose). She lives in South Burlington with her husband and two picky eaters.
